Roxithromycin Tablets 150 mg are antibiotic that are prescribed for treatment of respiratory & urinary tract infections and soft tissue infections. They belong to macrolide class of drugs and are derived from erythromycin. Active compound present in these tablets has molecular formula C41H76N2O15 with molar mass of 837.047 g/mol. They reach their peak levels within 2 hours of ingestion and get metabolized in liver. Roxithromycin Tablets 150 mg bind to 50S subunit of bacterial ribosome & inhibit synthesis of proteins which result in bacterial death. They have effectiveness against both grams negative & grams positive strains and show elimination half life of about 11 hours.
